Carlos Camargo is a National Speaker, Award-winning Reverse Mortgage Specialist & Branch Manager for Open Mortgage, LLC. as well as a Certified Instructor for the American CE Institute.
Carlos obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with majors in Finance, Real Estate & Insurance from California State University, Northridge.
Prior to obtaining his degree, Carlos served in the U.S. Air Force as a Law Enforcement Police Officer. He was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service prior to being Honorably Discharged as a Non-Commission Officer. His professional sales experience includes working domestically and internationally for Fortune 500 companies in the Banking, Real Estate, Mortgage Lending (Traditional and Reverse loans), Software and Technology industries.
Carlos continued his emphasis in studying Real Estate and was awarded the California Dept. of Real Estate Salesperson License in 2003 and the Calif. Dept. of Real Estate Broker License in 2007.
For over 20 years, Carlos has served customers in Southern California with primary emphasis in Ventura, Los Angeles, & Santa Barbara Counties and for the past 15 years he has specialized in educating older homeowners, their families, advocates and trusted advisors about the Pros & Cons and Strategic uses of Reverse Mortgages for Retirement Planning.
Carlos started his Reverse Mortgage career in 2007 with Wells Fargo and has been a sought-after speaker for National Conferences including the National Reverse Mortgage Lenders Association. Locally he has been a Speaker for the Camarillo Healthcare District, Cabrillo Economic Development Corp., Ventura County Adult Protective Services as well as the Ventura County Coastal Association of Realtors.
Carlos believes it is his mission to educate and inform seniors, their advocates and trusted advisors about today’s reverse mortgage programs with the goal of helping people understand the power and value of Home Equity and how it can enhance Retirement Success Rates in Ventura, Los Angeles, and Santa Barbara Counties. Carlos has been married to his wife, Tracy, for 25 years. They were Foster Parents here in Ventura County for 9 years and were able to Adopt 3 of their 4 girls.
