William Waggoner

WILLIAM A. WAGGONER II has more than thirty years’ experience in the financial services industry. Born and raised in the suburbs of Detroit, Bill earned his undergraduate degree in renewable natural resource management, majoring in wildlife ecology, from the University of Arizona.
After nearly a decade in the southwest, Bill returned to Michigan to earn his master’s degree in finance from Walsh College and to help with the family business, Waggoner Corporation (a metal-stamping factory that produced automotive parts and equipment). After graduate school, Bill worked at Dean Witter as a stockbroker and later went to work for BestVest Investments, the broker dealer started by the Hudson’s and Marshall Field’s Credit Union. Upon attaining his Series 65 license as a fee-based financial adviser, he and Peter Mitroff founded Stoney Creek Advisors, LLC, a registered investment advisory firm. Bill is the firm president and compliance officer. In addition to being a financial adviser, Bill has been an adjunct Professor of Economics for 20 years at Oakland Community College. He is a member of the Rochester Rotary, past President of the Troy Youth Assistance and has mentored two young boys. He continues to work with various community service organizations and give back to the community. He is an avid reader and gardener and recently combined both passions to publish his first book, “Your Retirement Garden”.
