Gregory J Krpalek, ChFC, CLU

Leading the Krpalek Financial Services team, I have been helping clients pursue their financial goals for more than four decades. I am very passionate about my opportunity to empower others and I am committed to making a positive difference in my clients’ lives. My practice is a lifestyle planning practice.  I am focused on guiding clients through the 13 wealth management issues. I believe this comprehensive approach can provide my clients clarity on their current situation, goals, and feelings for the steps to take.

I lost my parents at a very young age, my father, 56, and my mother, 58.  I understand firsthand the stress that financial hardship causes families. I have the desire to help other families prepare for both expected and unexpected life events, I pursued a career in the financial planning industry. Today, more than 40 years later, my personal background continues to motivate me. Beyond offering financial planning, I try to hold client events throughout the year, including educational seminars and workshops in different areas of interest. Clients have found my experience to be very valuable to them in their planning.

A proponent of continued education, I am always looking for opportunities to deepen my knowledge and expand my skill set. I received my Bachelor of Science in Business and Finance from Oregon State University. I hold several financial designations, including the prestigious Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®), and the Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®). Active in the industry, I am a member of several professional organizations, including the Society of Financial Service Professionals, the Ed Slott Elite Advisors Group, the Academy of Preferred Financial Advisors, the Tom Hegna Group, and the Willamette Valley Estate Planning Council. He has been a past member of the National Association of Life Underwriters, the Association of Advanced Life Underwriters, the Million Dollar Round Table, and the Tax Center for Strategies and Resources.

I was born and raised in Albany, Oregon, and graduated from Albany Union High School. I earned a full scholarship as a student-athlete to play football at Oregon State. I was a co-captain my senior year and received All-Coast honors and mentioned All-American honors. I was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys and ended my career as a free agent with the Green Bay Packers. I was very honored to be one of the first inductees into the West Albany Sports Hall of Fame. I continue to support OSU by attending football, basketball, and baseball games. I was a past member of their athletic board.

Outside of the office, I enjoy watching professional sports, fishing, reading, the arts, and traveling. I have always been actively involved in my community. I am a member of the Albany Rotary Club and I have served on the board of multiple local organizations, including the Oregon State University Foundation, Albany Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Albany Boys and Girls Club Foundation. I currently am an Honorary Trustee of the OSU Foundation after many years as a trustee on the board.

I support a number of different charities each year. I was the major sponsor for the 2015 “A Caring Partnership”, which provides support and needed services to those affected by cancer and the Christmas Story Book Land (Albany Fish, a local charity that provides food to low-income families). My firm just made a major commitment to the West Albany Sports Foundation to help West Albany build their sports complex. I also support OSU student athletics by being a major donor to the foundation.
