Kevin began his financial services career after receiving his B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Iowa and Master’s Certificate in Financial Markets from St. Xavier University in Chicago.

In 1997, he worked in the Eurodollar Options trading pit on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange trading floor, then joined Merrill Lynch’s equities trading desk. In 1999, he moved off the floor to Merrill Lynch Private Client as a financial advisor.

He passed the Certified Financial Planning examination in 2003, then joined Merrill and UBS where he assisted families and businesses with their financial planning and investment management needs.

After 16 years in the traditional Wall Street brokerage channel, he realized he’d experienced things that led him to eventually disagree with the culture and interests of the large, publicly-traded, brokerage firms and so, in 2015, he left the corporate world and became an Independent Advisor.

Being free from external pressures and motives which allows us to be concerned only about our clients’ well-being and helping them to achieve their stated goals.”

Kevin now enjoys a much broader platform of financial resources to share with clients and assist them on their journey to enjoy the life they’ve worked so hard for.

The Tamlyns consist of seven people: Kevin’s wife, Julie; three daughters, and two sons. On the weekends, you’ll find them at various basketball and volleyball tournaments. Basketball is a large part of Kevin’s life and has been for decades. He enjoys the training aspects of the game and passing along the mental and physical developmental facets of the game
